What’s Happening?

The team at BuyaPi.ca has some exciting news to share! After 8 years of selling Raspberry Pi’s and many other products as BuyaPi.ca, we are changing our name to PiShop.ca.

Why we’re making this change

We’re making this change, now, for two great reasons.

The first reason for this change is, we want to bring BuyaPi.ca into the PiShop Family! For the last 5 years the team at BuyaPi.ca has also run PiShop.us. Between the two stores we’ve grown, which has allowed us to provide better customer service, more products and better prices. By changing BuyaPi.ca to PiShop.ca we are strengthening our brand with the goal of reaching even more people and empowering them to create and modify technology.

The second reason for this change is, we also want to welcome PiShop.mx into the PiShop family. With the addition of a new PiShop in Mexico, PiShop will be the largest North American Raspberry Pi distributor. One store in three countries serving makers no matter where they are.

When will it happen?

Expect to see changes over the next few weeks, including the switch from BuyaPi.ca to PiShop.ca as the primary URL for the store. If you experience any issues related to this change please reach out to support@pishop.ca.

What does it mean for you?

The only change that will affect you is the change in the website address. We’ve even made sure that BuyaPi.ca will still redirect to PiShop.ca so that old links, and bookmarks will still work. Otherwise it’s the same great products and services, just a growing PiShop Family.

Can you help?

Yes you can! Some of our valued customers have been with us for several years, some for as many as 8! We would like to ask our old, new, and future customers to help us with this big change. If you could share this news and help make it simple, transparent, and less confusing for others, that would be great. If you run a technical (or not so technical) blog or use any social media - please post a quick FYI and tag us or simply repost our social media posts. Thank you! We will make it a fun hunting exercise and will do our best to watch for all external notices, announcements and re-posts. If you have any past (or future) orders in our system, we will send you one of our official BuyaPi.ca Mugs (that in a few days will become a rare relic!).
