MicroHOPE - A micro-controller development kit based on Atmel ATmega32.
MicroHOPE supports coding in assembler & C language, treating the uC as a device with programmable Input/Output pins and then introducing the peripherals like ADC, communication ports etc. Understand the uC architecture using small assembly language programs , displaying their output on LEDs connected to the output ports. Being an open hardware product, MicroHOPE will try to become the lowest priced one in this category.
There is no complex IDE for MicroHOPE. A simple text editor with a couple of buttons to invoke avrgcc and avrdude ( to compile and upload the code) is what we have. It is tested on both GNU/Linux and MSWindows. Debian packages are also available. MicroHOPE- A micro-controller development kit, developed by Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), Delhi.
Why one more uC development System ? How is it different from others ?
Our focus is on understanding the fundamentals of micro-controller architecture and programming rather than learning the features of the development kit. The knowledge gained on Atmega32 using MicroHOPE can be easily applied in understanding another micro-controller.
