An 8 bit Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) is made using an R-2R network as shown in the schematic below. This can be used for generating arbitrary shaped voltage waveforms under software control.An R-2R Ladder is a simple and inexpensive way to perform digital-to-analog conversion, using repetitive arrangements of precise resistor networks in a ladder-like configuration.
It can also be used for raspberry pi, Arduino and other Controllers.
